As I looked out the window at my husband, Rich, weeding the flower bed, I was again reminded that “where there’s a will, there’s a way”.\u00a0 Last year Rich had a complete hip replacement in June and a complete knee replacement in November.\u00a0 It was quite a year for us.\u00a0 Now he can no longer bend over and pull weeds like he did for the first 60 years of his life.\u00a0 Instead he sits or lays on the ground and pulls the weeds.\u00a0 He\u00a0slides around on his rear to get where he needs to be.\u00a0 The with the use of his cane, he pulls himself back up and moves on to the next task.<\/p>\n
Sometimes as Christians we need to have some replacement parts.\u00a0 When we accept Jesus, He replaces our hearts of stone with fleshly hearts. (II Cor. 3:3)\u00a0 We become\u00a0new creatures.\u00a0 We are able to feel love and compassion for others and begin putting their needs above our own.\u00a0 We, indeed, have a new heart.<\/p>\n
We also may need an attitude replacement.\u00a0 Many of us have grown into adults with bad attitudes and low self esteem.\u00a0 When we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, we can replace those negative attitudes with positive ones.\u00a0 We can learn to see the world from a different perspective and reach out a helping hand to others.\u00a0 We can replace doubt and fear with hope and security in Jesus.<\/p>\n
A new belief system can make quite a difference in the way we perceive the world around us.\u00a0 When we understand that all truth is found in God’s Word, it causes our faith to rise and gives us a guide for all life’s decisions.\u00a0 The Bible really does have all the answers. We may have to dig for it and pray through the process, but I guarantee it’s in there.<\/p>\n
Many times we think we can fix our mental and spiritual problems by slapping a “band aid” on the problem.\u00a0 We try to ignore it , in hopes that it will just go away.\u00a0 These things might help for a while, but what we really need is a complete transplant or replacement of that behavior or thought pattern.\u00a0 Jesus is the only one who can do this.<\/p>\n
He gave us the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us through this life.\u00a0 He will show us the way to accomplish a compete transformation in our life.\u00a0 We may need some counseling or pastoral wisdom, or God may supernaturally do the work himself. Whatever path we choose, God can and will restore us and cause us to be healthy again.\u00a0 There is nothing to fear when we have the\u00a0 repl<\/p>\n
