We all need water to live.\u00a0 We can only last a few days without it.\u00a0 Our gardens and flowers are the same. God’s word says a lot about the cleansing effect water can have.\u00a0 We take showers to get clean from the toils of the day, but God says we can be washed by the Word of God (Eph.5:26).\u00a0 I can tell your that sometimes after I have been to church and heard the word preached, I feel as if I have just had a spiritual shower.\u00a0 It’s amazing!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We have had a bit of a drought here this year, so little Erin and Grandpa are giving the plants a much needed drink.\u00a0 Here they are watering tomatoes and black raspberries.\u00a0 It all seemed like a game to Erin, but those plants knew how badly they needed that drink.\u00a0 There have been many corn fields and such that are not going to produce well this year because of a lack of rain.\u00a0 The area farmers are concerned.\u00a0 Many don’t realize that when one crop fails, it can effect a whole lot of other things.\u00a0 If the corn fails in Ohio, the prices of cereal, corn muffins and even our meat will go up.\u00a0 When\u00a0 a farmer has to pay more for corn to feed his cattle, we pay more for a steak.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our spiritual bodies can also suffer from a lack of watering.\u00a0 We often get busy with all our “Stuff” and forget to spend time in the Bible and in the prescence of Jesus.\u00a0 We may not notice it at first, but the longer we go, the dryer we get.\u00a0 God has promised us in. Isaiah 58:11, that\u00a0 He will guide us through the drought, and we shall be as a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters never fail.<\/p>\n

The old saying, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” might apply here.\u00a0 God provides the watering of the Word.\u00a0 He shows us how to get to the water, but He can’t or should I say won’t make\u00a0 us drink.\u00a0 That is a choice that we each make for ourselves.\u00a0 There is no reason for a Christian to be parched and dry when our water source flows within us.\u00a0 We only need to access it.\u00a0 Then the refreshing will come and we will be ready to produce fruit again.<\/p>\n
