\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With it being an election year, we are bombarded with new faces in the political arena.\u00a0 We hear each one say how great they are and why they should be our next president, and in the next breath they are speaking negatively about the other candidates.\u00a0 How are we to know what to believe?\u00a0 We can’t possible have a personal relationship with all these men.\u00a0 In fact, most of us don’t have a relationship with even one of these candidates.\u00a0 Yet, they want us to entrust the future of our nation and world to them.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We probably know many things about each candidate, like where they live, family members, education, past experiece, voting records and favorite food.\u00a0 We might research them and learn more personal things like, how long they’ve been married or what is thei shoe size.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I know many things about President Abraham Lincoln, but I couldn’t have known him personally.\u00a0 There is a vast difference between knowing about someone and actually knowing them.\u00a0 The same is true with Jesus.\u00a0 We can know all about Him, tell all the parables He used, recite chapters of the Bible, and speak a fluent Christianise, but\u00a0 do we know Him?<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0 Without a personal relationship with Jesus, we cannot hope to go to Heaven.\u00a0 We must invite Him into our hearts in order to be saved.\u00a0 There is no other way. (John 3:3)\u00a0 Jesus is not a politician and He always speaks the truth.\u00a0 For that reason, we can trust him with our lives.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Not so with our presidential candidates.\u00a0 They can tell the media pretty much what they want to and most of America has no way to prove or disprove the truth of the matter.\u00a0 It can be especially hard to believe one man when the others are saying just the opposite.\u00a0 How do we know who to trust?<\/p>\n
\u00a0 This is an area where we must trust Jesus to speak to us in that still small voice in our hearts.\u00a0 He alone can guide us to the truth about a candadates motives and honesty.\u00a0 So, don’t forget to pray before you vote.<\/p>\n
