I wouldn’t exactly consider myself a daredevil. \u00a0But I wouldn’t say that I’m a pansy either. \u00a0I like to think that I fall somewhere right in the middle of that spectrum.<\/p>\n
I enjoy riding on roller coasters. \u00a0I’ve done a ride-along in a NASCAR race car. \u00a0I’ve zip lined through the jungles of Jamaica. \u00a0And although I haven’t done it yet, I want to skydive too.<\/p>\n
But just because I’ve done (or want to do) those things, doesn’t mean you’ll ever catch me on a high wire dangling above an open canyon or even bungee jumping off a bridge. \u00a0Nooooo thank you.<\/p>\n
Recently though, I’ve found myself getting that “high” of living on the edge in an entirely different way. \u00a0By depending SOLELY on God.<\/p>\n
Sure, that’s the way we’re supposed to live all of the time anyway. \u00a0But we are only human so for most of us, that’s a tough way to live. \u00a0We like to feel like we are in\u00a0control<\/em> of what’s going on. \u00a0And maybe God needs our help… He’s probably super busy, right?<\/p>\n But lately, I’ve been doing just that, especially when it comes to my finances. \u00a0Freelancers don’t get a steady paycheck. \u00a0They get paid when the work comes and even then, it’s on the client’s schedule, not yours. \u00a0And with my recent tiny house build, things are a little tighter than usual, so each project is super important.<\/p>\n Enter faith.<\/p>\n After many years of stressing, worrying, pseudo-problem solving and stressing some more (and ending up with adrenal fatigue), I realized that isn’t going to change anything<\/em>. \u00a0Except how I feel in the meantime of course. \u00a0So instead, I’ve decided to trust God with the whole enchilada and have faith that He will provide the opportunities to work and the funds when I need them. \u00a0I trust that I can still tithe like I am supposed to (whether things get tight or not) and continue to do my best on each individual project and not stress out about the next one.<\/p>\n Yes, it’s a giant leap of faith and it does take heart-pounding courage to do it. \u00a0It’s like riding on the tallest roller coaster in the park with your hands high in the air, depending on that bar to hold you in your seat.<\/p>\n But you know what? \u00a0It’ll be the best thrill you ever get.<\/p>\n Stop trying to control your finances, control your relationships, control your job, control your studies at school, control… control… control. \u00a0Take a step back. \u00a0Do your part but let God take over the rest. \u00a0Have faith and live on the “edge.”<\/p>\n God’s got you.<\/p>\n So go ahead, take the leap.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I wouldn’t exactly consider myself a daredevil. \u00a0But I wouldn’t say that I’m a pansy either. \u00a0I like to think that I fall somewhere right in the middle of that spectrum.
