Last May I was working when I made a mistake. \u00a0While I understood that I was to blame, my first reaction was to fix blame in other places. \u00a0As I look back on my reaction, I realize it was unrealistic\u00a0for me to revert into defensive mode, rather than a repentant mode.<\/p>\n
I know that I’m in need of change. \u00a0Yet when my need\u00a0to change is exposed, everything in me revolts and cries, “Unfair! \u00a0You need to hear my side of the issue.”<\/p>\n
Repentance is at the heart of our relationship with the Lord. \u00a0If we\u00a0are a part of the family of God, we understand that simple principle. \u00a0Repentance means turning from an action and going in the opposite\u00a0direction. \u00a0It is our willingness to make alterations\u00a0and God’s willingness to release His transformation power\u00a0to actually make change a reality. \u00a0These two principles work in concert to achieve what we cannot accomplish\u00a0on our own–much needed change.<\/p>\n
In prayer, I forced myself to face and desire change that would not allow this mistake to happen again. \u00a0In humility, I turned to my Father God to do the work that I cannot do on my own. \u00a0Will there be a difference? \u00a0Yes. \u00a0God is faithful in the middle of my\u00a0drama, failure and inability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
