\"jesus<\/a>Recently, I’ve heard a great deal about the things the Holy Spirit was doing in the 1960’s and 1970’s. \u00a0It is interesting to me because those were days through which we lived. \u00a0There were times that it seemed that the Lord was tangible enough to reach out and touch. \u00a0Even though I was very young–bearly out of my teenage years–I had been a Christian long enough to realize that this kind of mysterious, glorious revelation would not last forever.<\/p>\n

It is part of the curse that we live under. \u00a0We leak. \u00a0There are some things that we need to understand when we are faced with our leaky humanity. \u00a0Here are a few that I’ve learned over the years<\/p>\n

\"leaking<\/a>1. \u00a0Though we leak<\/strong>, God does not moved away from us.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0Neither has He<\/strong> removed His love and compassion.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Miracles<\/strong> don’t grow faith.<\/p>\n

4. \u00a0Day-to-day<\/strong> living grows faith.<\/p>\n

5. \u00a0Living out the<\/strong> Word of God when you feel nothing makes our faith strong and resilient.<\/p>\n

6. \u00a0Leaking<\/strong> isn’t a sin.<\/p>\n

7. \u00a0Leaking is simply<\/strong> a reality and part of our Adamic nature.<\/p>\n

8. \u00a0Leaking doesn’t mean<\/strong> that we love God less than we did when there was almost a tangible presence of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

9. \u00a0Abundant faith<\/strong> and abundant faithfulness are different.<\/p>\n

10. \u00a0Adundant faith<\/strong> is a gift from God.<\/p>\n

11. \u00a0Abundant faithfulness<\/strong> is our gift to God.<\/p>\n

A wonderful Christian Mentor–my mother–often quietly mused, “Will the Lord find a faithful people when He returns?” \u00a0It seems like a simple question; but she repeated it so often that I came to understand that Mother was expressing the plaintive cry of God’s heart. \u00a0Ministering within the mentally challenged community for many years has helped me to see the fruit of a faithful people. \u00a0Most of my members will never write a book, sonnet or poem. \u00a0About half of them cannot read. \u00a0Some cannot talk. \u00a0But they are faithful. \u00a0I’ve had several members who did not miss a week in 20 years.<\/p>\n

Mighty deeds and amazing miracles are wonderful. \u00a0They attract crowds and bring great joy into our lives. \u00a0But I’ve become more and more convinced that God is looking for a faithful people who will love Him no matter what the circumstances, delights, hardship, joy or trials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
