and we practiced that part of our friendship often.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/234\/2012\/11\/Windsong.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3296\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/234\/2012\/11\/Windsong.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Ethel wrote for our monthly newsletter &#8220;Connecting Point,&#8221; and she was incredibly faithful in her efforts. \u00a0Even after she moved to Volusia County, Ethel always met our deadlines; and she wrote with great skill and feeling for the special needs population.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As a Bible teacher, Ethel could not be matched. \u00a0She taught the Scriptures with a keen eye for truth and clarity. \u00a0Her class was a verse-by-verse discussion study for our readers. \u00a0It has become the model for our leadership and readers classes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>My first view of Ethel came 22 years ago through Sarah, her daughter who was mentally challenged. \u00a0It was my first year at Camp Agape, our annual ministry retreat. \u00a0Sarah was my bunk mate. \u00a0I had the top bunk and she had the bottom.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On Sunday afternoon, after two days of camp, I thought I was too tired to climb to the top bunk. \u00a0Therefore, I decided to lay on Sarah&#8217;s bottom bed, thinking that she would never notice or understand. \u00a0I was wrong!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Sarah came into the cabin and jumped me. \u00a0&#8220;Get off my bed,&#8221; she insisted. &#8220;You can&#8217;t get on my bed!&#8221; \u00a0Ethel had taught Sarah well. \u00a0It is vital for our population to understand their value and Sarah knew that I was an intruder and she wasn&#8217;t intimidated by me. \u00a0Ethel treated Sarah as an adult, and she allowed Sarah the dignity of being valued as a child of the Lord.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/234\/2012\/11\/playing-pool.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-3297\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/234\/2012\/11\/playing-pool.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"146\" \/><\/a>One year, in touring our campgrounds one year, Ethel asked Sarah what she liked best about camp. \u00a0Immediately, Sarah said, &#8220;Pool.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Shocked, Ethel said, &#8220;You don&#8217;t know how to play pool.&#8221;
