Acts 4:29<\/p>\n

Central Theme:\u00a0 God gives us courage to speak and do what is right.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Introduction–Bring one of your gardening books. Explain how much I love gardening and I find it easy to talk to people about gardening.\u00a0 I like to share tips and information. \u00a0Explain how nobody is going to kill me for talking about my garden. \u00a0Immediately after Jesus died, arose and ascended into heaven, the church was people who loved Jesus so much that they couldn\u2019t stop talking about Him even though it meant that they would be in trouble. \u00a0Have a member read<\/strong>\u00a0Acts 4:29.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What would happen to you if you decided to tell every person you met about Jesus tomorrow?\u00a0 Would that take real courage?<\/p>\n

A. Would you be arrested?<\/p>\n

B.\u00a0 Would you be put in jail?<\/p>\n

C. Would you be killed?\u00a0 Would you need courage?<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In Acts 12:1-25, we read about a group of people who were so happy that they could not stop talking about Jesus.<\/p>\n

A. The church leaders of the day got very angry and put their leaders in jail.<\/p>\n

B.\u00a0 James, the brother of Jesus, was killed.<\/p>\n

C. But they had great courage.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>III.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We know that Jesus has the power to change lives and we want to tell others about what has happened to us but we are afraid.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 God can give us courage and joy.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Tomorrow ask God to give you one person who is hurting and needs your help.<\/p>\n

A. Become their friend.<\/p>\n

B.\u00a0 Tell them about Jesus.<\/p>\n

Conclusions:\u00a0 We can make a difference in the world, one person at a time, if we have courage. \u00a0God will give us courage if we ask.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
