Psalm 77:12<\/p>\n

Central Theme:\u00a0 God\u2018s power works in our lives through prayer.<\/p>\n

One Sunday night during a church service, my son said, \u201cMama, God just healed me.\u201d\u00a0 He had a really bad hernia and while we were in church it disappeared.\u00a0 God did a miracle for him.\u00a0 My daughter, broke her arm and the bone was sticking out.\u00a0 I came home; she was at the neighbor\u2019s laying on the bed.\u00a0 I casually prayed for her arm because she was in so much pain.\u00a0 We all saw, including our neighbor, God move that bone back in place.\u00a0 Miracle. \u00a0Immediately, I took her to the doctor. \u00a0He told us that the arm was not broken. \u00a0I could tell you many times I saw God\u2019s power move in my life.\u00a0 I know he is a powerful God and it is good for me to think about the things God has done for me.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Have a member read Psalm 77:12<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tell the story of Elijah and the fire from heaven from I Kings 18:22-39.<\/p>\n

A. There had been a drought for three years.<\/p>\n

B.\u00a0 Elijah built an altar and invited the priest of Baal to call fire from heaven. \u00a0They prayed all day. \u00a0They cut themselves. \u00a0Elijah made fun of them and their antics.<\/p>\n

C. Then it was Elijah’s turn. \u00a0Elijah poured water on the altar until the water filled the place for the wood and the water was pouring out. Then he asked God to send fire. \u00a0The fire came, consumed the sacrifice and lapped up the water.<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prayer releases God\u2019s power to do miracles in our lives and the lives of others.<\/p>\n

A. God does not ever do tricks but miracles.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 His purpose is to change lives and to help people come to him as lord and savior.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 His purpose is to strengthen your faith and your growth in him.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 No one ever denied Jesus did miracles, they just said that those miracles were from the devil.<\/p>\n
