\"\"<\/a>As a teenager I would often look at the sky watching to see if Jesus was coming again. \u00a0In fact, I still do. \u00a0I’ve never regarding this as a silly act. \u00a0Jesus is coming back and we are to be looking for him. \u00a0However, in Acts 1:11, after Jesus had ascended into heaven, the angels admonished Jesus’ followers, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing here looking into the sky? \u00a0Jesus, whom you saw taken up from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you saw him go.”<\/p>\n

Jesus ascended into heaven.\u00a0 Two angels appeared and said, \u201cHe will return just as he left.” \u00a0Since then Christians have been looking for him. \u00a0We should be expecting him. \u00a0About thirty years ago, I knew a lovely Christan lady who told me, \u201cMy parents were looking for Jesus to come all the time; and he didn\u2018t come.\u00a0 Don\u2018t waste your efforts.\u201d \u00a0Looking for Jesus is never a waste of time. \u00a0It is hope and the center of our life as a Christian.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Nevertheless, we are to live as though we have years to fill with good works for the Lord, while still looking forward to His return. \u00a0In fact, we are to live as though Jesus will return any minute. \u00a0Is there is no contridiction with that? \u00a0No but it is a great paradox.<\/p>\n

We are not to stop work and look at the sky all the time. \u00a0\u00a0Looking for Jesus means that we are to be active and ready. \u00a0At Special Gathering which is a ministry within the mentally challenged community, we are waiting for Retreat\/Camp Agape to come in Memorial Day weekend. \u00a0Our entire community is excited with anticipation.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>However, no one is going to sit down and wait. \u00a0Suitcases must be packed. \u00a0Forms must be filled out. \u00a0There are some of our members who need to work to earn the money they need for camp.<\/p>\n

Looking forward does not mean that we stop work. \u00a0It means that we continue to work. \u00a0Jesus is coming again. \u00a0We should wait for him with joy and hope while working to please him with our love.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
