\"\"<\/a>When we are met head on by our mistakes, it is sometimes impossible to pick up and resume “just like nothing happened,”\u00a0especially when we must admit that we have hurt a dear friend. \u00a0 Even though I deeply hurt a good friend some years back, she was determined to maintain me as a companion.\u00a0 She went out of her way to see my side.\u00a0 I was aware that she traveled an extra distance to help me be comfortable and to include me in family gatherings.<\/p>\n

That’s grace and it isn’t cheap. It cost my friend a lot.\u00a0 True grace always costs a price.\u00a0 We shouldn’t be surprised that it’s the injured party who must not only satisfy the bill but fork over the tip.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Extravagant mankind has waltzed into the most expensive restaurant in town and ordered the most lavish meal on the menu.\u00a0 We’ve feasted on appetizers and indulged ourselves with dessert.\u00a0 But we can’t pay the cashier because we are bankrupt.\u00a0 We have no cash.\u00a0 They won’t honor our checks.\u00a0 Our credit cards have been revoked.\u00a0 When we realize we can’t pay the bill, we don’t meekly ask for forgiveness.\u00a0 We yell and make an ugly scene screaming how unfair life is.<\/p>\n

No matter how verbal we become, the fact remains.\u00a0 Someone must pay.\u00a0 Jesus is our Savior Redeemer.\u00a0 He is a gracious friend who wants to help and bail us out from our distress.\u00a0 Making restitution for our thoughtless words and deeds\u00a0was not\u00a0easy.\u00a0 It cost a monumental price.\u00a0 His life.<\/p>\n

I hate cheap grace.\u00a0 But I shall be eternally grateful to a Savior who didn’t feel it was too hard a price to pay in order to buy me back.\u00a0 I’m also thankful for my gracious friend who\u00a0was willing to pay the price to buy back my friendship even though she was the injured party.\u00a0 That’s grace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
