\"\"<\/a>After Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne hit Vero Beach, Florida, in 2004,\u00a0the street signs in Indian River County were all twisted.\u00a0 Many of the street markers were gone.\u00a0 Almost all of the ones left standing\u00a0were turned the wrong way.<\/p>\n

These street signs said the right words; but you could not see them because they were down on the ground or they\u00a0were turned the wrong directions.\u00a0 Sometimes my life gets twisted and I become a person who doesn\u2019t do what God wants.<\/p>\n

James 1:22 (NCV) reads, “Do what God’s teaching says; when you only listen and do nothing, you are fooling yourselves.”\u00a0\u00a0The Apostle Paul wrote about faith and grace in his letters to the church.\u00a0\u00a0Paul said these assets\u00a0are God\u2019s free gift.\u00a0 That is true.<\/p>\n

But some people said, \u201cIf God\u2019s grace is free and we get God\u2019s grace when we sin, we should sin more.\u201d\u00a0 This is false teaching.\u00a0 In fact, James\u00a0was writing to the church\u00a0to straighten out this incorrect teaching.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

James said, \u201cYou are not only to listen to God\u2018s word but you are to do the things you hear in the Bible.”\u00a0 Many\u00a0Sundays at Special Gathering,\u00a0I hear the sermon\u2013because I give it\u2013and I think this is good<\/em> but I\u2019m not doing what God\u2019s word teaches me.<\/p>\n

All Christians\u00a0are to be\u00a0action<\/strong> people.\u00a0 We are to listen to God\u00a0and<\/strong> we are to\u00a0do<\/strong> what He says.\u00a0 We hear, God is love.\u00a0 Therefore, we should love the people you meet each day.\u00a0 \u00a0Too often, we leave the worship service; and then we fight over a piece of cake or\u00a0who’s going to\u00a0sit in what\u00a0chair.<\/p>\n

God says, \u201cFeed the poor.\u201d\u00a0 Therefore, we should help to get food to people who need it.\u00a0 One of\u00a0Special Gathering \u00a0members gave money to Special Gathering to help with evacuating some of our members\u00a0from the hurricane area.<\/p>\n

Action<\/strong> people don’t sit passively and listen to what is being said.\u00a0 We are to be loving, caring, giving people.<\/p>\n

James said that we are to do the things we hear. \u00a0We are not to just listen.\u00a0 We must become\u00a0people of action.\u00a0 What action do you need to implement into your life?\u00a0 What has the Lord been telling you to do that will make a difference in the life of another person?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
