{"id":1211,"date":"2011-07-22T05:21:48","date_gmt":"2011-07-22T09:21:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/simplelife\/?p=1211"},"modified":"2011-07-21T23:16:22","modified_gmt":"2011-07-22T03:16:22","slug":"trust-to-succeed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/simplelife\/2011\/07\/trust-to-succeed.html","title":{"rendered":"Trust to succeed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/simplelife\/files\/2011\/07\/Adult.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1212\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/234\/2011\/07\/Adult-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>For about 10 years, \u00a0mourning doves nested outside our back door. \u00a0 The sweet cooing of the birds and the chirps of their young, filled my morning devotion and prayer spot with joyful, mourning sounds. \u00a0Several times a day, I&#8217;d venture outside the sliding glass door to view the tiny babies or the hovering parents.<\/p>\n<p>The year after Hurricanes Frances and Jean, the mourning doves were replaced by the ringed-turtle dove. \u00a0We are told that the winds blew these lovely, wanderers into our area. \u00a0Then the second year of their nesting, I lowered the plant where the nest was perched. \u00a0The birds decided they couldn\u2019t trust this lower spot. \u00a0They nested but later left the eggs and the nest.<\/p>\n<p>Trust is a foundation stone of life. \u00a0Whether you are a newly-migrated, ringed-turtle dove searching for a nesting area, a small child grasping the hand of his dad, or a woman in her 40&#8217;s who reaches across the bed each night to touch her spouse, we need someone to trust.<a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/234\/2011\/07\/ringed-turtle-dove.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1213\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/234\/2011\/07\/ringed-turtle-dove.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Whom can you trust?
