But each can heal the worst excesses of the other, with science, as Pope Paul II said, ‘Purify[ing]’ religion from error and superstition,’ and religion ‘purify[ing] science from idolatry and false absolutes.’ by infusing it with a little humility. Or, as Einstein observed, ‘Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.’ “
