It’s Sunday\u00a0afternoon here in New Jersey. Yesterday it was raining and the temps are in the 30’s. Today is a freakish 50 degrees.\u00a0 Tomorrow night they are calling for a blizzard.\u00a0\u00a0Snow days make kids crazy!\u00a0 At least here they do. Is it Spring yet?\u00a0 Not even close.<\/p>\n
It’s the end of January, which means we still gave few months until Spring. Thank God for Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day for something to celebrate.\u00a0 I’m a sunshine and beach girl who would rather live somewhere warm and know I will end up there at some point.\u00a0\u00a0What I like about Winter is Christmas, the boots, my kids’ birthdays (3 out of 4 are winter babies), velvet, cool coats, and hearty foods.\u00a0 I am a make the best of it girl.\u00a0 Sitting by the fireplace and drink a cup of hot tea is the remedy.<\/p>\n
Wishing for things to be different is good for dream manifesting, goal setting, vision board type stuff.\u00a0 But accepting what is, the present moment is key.\u00a0 As a parent, I have lots of pooping in the pants, tantrum throwing,\u00a0messy moments and most of the time this is my children doing this luckily and not me.\u00a0 But I’m human, so yes I have thrown a tantrum.\u00a0 Mom tantrums, or meltdowns, I bet are more frequent in the winter when kids are stuck inside or schedules are action-packed.\u00a0 But then again, in the summer the kids get bored and naturally get on each others nerves and mine.\u00a0 I still take that warm weather and the freedom of a schedule over cold and windy days.<\/p>\n
Maybe I am secretly a Southern California girl anyway.\u00a0 I love the vibe and the food for sure.\u00a0 People say you wouldn’t appreciate the Spring as much without the Winter.\u00a0 I think sometimes they say that to make themselves feel better.\u00a0 At least I have when I’ve said it.\u00a0 I wonder if that’s like in life.\u00a0 If you didn’t have those not so fun moments with your kids, would you appreciate\u00a0the happy, sunny moments as much?<\/p>\n
My winter feel good tips are:
\n1. Get out\u00a0in nature or at least take drive on sunny days.\u00a0 Sit by a window and let the sun bathe you.
\n2. Music is a healer.\u00a0 Listen daily.
\n3. Exercise daily to keep that good energy flowing.
\n4. Meditate and journal.\u00a0 Light a candle and set intentions, say a prayer or blessing.
\n5. Hug someone or something (like pet).\u00a0 Human\u00a0touch is sacred and creates good hormones.<\/p>\n
My mantra is:\u00a0 Every day is a\u00a0bright\u00a0day as I choose it.<\/p>\n
