{"id":262,"date":"2014-11-26T02:48:33","date_gmt":"2014-11-26T02:48:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/sassyspirit\/?p=262"},"modified":"2014-11-26T02:48:33","modified_gmt":"2014-11-26T02:48:33","slug":"good-stuff-guilt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/sassyspirit\/2014\/11\/good-stuff-guilt.html","title":{"rendered":"Good Stuff Guilt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have a wonderful life.\u00a0 It&#8217;s always getting better.\u00a0\u00a0 The holidays are one of the times I really feel it the most.\u00a0 I look at those who have lost loved ones, have no family or the unhealthy dysfunctional kind, or just have so much less than I do and I send blessings.\u00a0 If I could, I&#8217;d wave my magic wand and give them all the good stuff.\u00a0 When people\u00a0used to\u00a0tell me how bad things in their life were, I&#8217;d want to relate to them and play down my life, complain, and minimize my problems in my own mind (guilt was my constant companion). I used to feel bad that I shouldn&#8217;t want more because I have a loving husband, healthy kids, etc.\u00a0 God didn&#8217;t give me my words\u00a0in order to\u00a0play a small life to make others feel better.\u00a0 That would be temporary anyway.\u00a0 I came\u00a0here to reach many with my words and help them improve their lives in some way, whether big or small.\u00a0 No guilt or <em>do I deserve all the good<\/em> either.\u00a0 That&#8217;s hogwash baloney sandwich.\u00a0 We&#8217;re all worthy and no matter what hand we are dealt, good or bad, if we decide it will stop us, it will.\u00a0 I used to believe in and live in limitations.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, I have an insatiable desire to connect to my own soul, God, and self-help\/improvement\/empowerment\/love, ya know&#8230;all the selfies movements.\u00a0 It means I believe you can change.\u00a0 If you want to change things in your life, you must look at your thoughts, beliefs, and subconscious gunk in the process.\u00a0 There will always be things I&#8217;m working on because I&#8217;m about growth and expansion, this epic love ride of self.\u00a0 I cannot imagine a life without striving to be more and understand even deeper, this experience on this planet.\u00a0 For instance, I had a block for years that I wasn&#8217;t smart enough to be a writer.\u00a0 If I didn&#8217;t work on myself, that would have been where I stayed.\u00a0 Not smart.\u00a0\u00a0 I thought I could never change that.\u00a0 My second book will be out January 8th.\u00a0 I was so intimidated by business stuff.\u00a0 I\u00a0thought I&#8217;d\u00a0never know the business world and closed off a lot of possibilities for myself.\u00a0 But that was just a story.\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t the absolute truth.\u00a0 Question everything is one of my mottos and especially question your thoughts.\u00a0 I am still learning business and working on upleveling.\u00a0 New thoughts on these daily.<\/p>\n<p>If you have thoughts that make you feel bad, examine them.\u00a0 Are they truth?\u00a0 Are they what you <em>think<\/em> you should think?\u00a0 Are they thoughts that were passed down or you learned?\u00a0 Look to open your mind up to new concepts and ideas.\u00a0 This gives you clarity about what you really deep down feel, believe, or know.\u00a0 Knowing is that place inside, past the thoughts, where grace resides.<\/p>\n<p>Writing in a journal helps us really get to our subconscious blocks and also on the other side of our issues, our holy space of wisdom.\u00a0 It&#8217;s also in writing what we are grateful for, where we can get to add more of that consciousness within us.\u00a0 Focus on what you want to grow.\u00a0 So always balance the wanting to learn and release more, with integrating and\u00a0looking within.<\/p>\n<p>Think good thoughts.\u00a0 Many blessings to all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a wonderful life.\u00a0 It&#8217;s always getting better.\u00a0\u00a0 The holidays are one of the times I really feel it the most.\u00a0 I look at those who have lost loved ones, have no family or the unhealthy dysfunctional kind, or just have so much less than I do and I send blessings.\u00a0 If I could,&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":568,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-262","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.9 -
