In all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5–6

These days it is hard to trust. There is so much uncertainty. But that is exactly what God is telling us to do. Trust Him.

Trust is not my default position.

When a situation arises, I am quick to fret over finding solutions. I am a fixer. I forget that God is already at work in the situation. I strategize, plan, work and when things don’t move fast enough for me, I try to help them along under my own power. I wear myself out in my futile attempts to change what I cannot change. That is leaning on my own understanding.

That is not God’s way. God asks that we trust Him. That’s not always easy when decisions need to be made. Which way to go? What to do? Certainly, there are times when we need to take action using our God-given problem-solving skills. But trust means recognizing that God is actively at work already and that He will shine the light we need to take the next right step.

He sees your past, present, and future. He knows you better than you know yourself. And He loves you totally. He will guide you step by step.

Now think about what you are facing today. Choose to trust God in this moment about this situation. This isn’t about answers or quick fixes; this is about choosing to put your finite understanding into His infinite wisdom and trusting God that He will show you the way.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. No stranger to heartache, she seeks to provide a Biblical perspective to her journey of faith. She is warm and talks openly about her own need for a safe place as she journeyed through her husband’s infidelities, her subsequent depression, her divorces, her teenage daughter’s two unplanned pregnancies, another daughter’s bulimia, her son’s battle with drugs, grandson's special needs and returning to school at age 40. Although born into the "famous" Graham family Ruth did not feel she had a safe place to unburden the secrets of her life. She felt she had to project and image and wear a mask that she "had it all together". She had to meet others' expectations of her. It was not until a mid-life crisis did that she fully discover the unconditional love and grace of God. Her life's passion is to connect people to that same grace and love she found, no matter who they are or what sin. Ruth is an experienced conference speaker and Bible teacher. She has appeared on a variety of radio and television shows including: Good Morning, America, The Hour of Power, Focus on the Family, Moody Broadcasting, Fox & Friends, CBN, Life Today and CNN. She has worked in publishing for over 14 years and is the founder of the Ruth Graham & Friends Ministry. Ruth has three grown children and nine grandchildren. She lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her life Bible verse is John 1:16.
http://ruthgrahamministries.com
["GET
