{"id":2315,"date":"2013-02-24T17:49:03","date_gmt":"2013-02-24T17:49:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/religion101\/?p=2315"},"modified":"2015-11-30T19:06:05","modified_gmt":"2015-11-30T19:06:05","slug":"purim-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/religion101\/2013\/02\/purim-2013.html","title":{"rendered":"Purim 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At sunset yesterday (February 23, 2013), Jews worldwide began observing one of Judaism\u2019s most joyous and celebratory annual\u00a0holidays\u00a0(or \u201choly days\u201d):\u00a0<em>Purim<\/em>, or the Feast of Lots.\u00a0Purim runs throughout the following day (today), before concluding at nightfall this evening (February 24).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve written a special article all about Purim, featured elsewhere on Beliefnet (<a title=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/Faiths\/Judaism\/Articles\/Welcome-Purim.aspx?utm=Homepage_Lead\" href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/Faiths\/Judaism\/Articles\/Welcome-Purim.aspx?utm=Homepage_Lead\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\">click here<\/span><\/a> to read it), so repeating that material here would be redundant.
