Whoa<\/a>! I didn’t think he’d be able to pull it off! So far it’s 52 to 47 in the one of the most liberal states of the union. Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat is now in the hands of a Republican<\/em> because of health care “reform.” Don’t you just love the irony?<\/p>\n

\nThe Associated Press called the race for Brown as the Republican held a 53 percent to 46 percent edge over Coakley with more than 70 percent of precincts reporting. Coakley conceded defeat to Brown in a phone call shortly before the race was called.
\nBrown addressed a cheering crowd in Boston around 10:30 p.m., telling his exultant backers: “They can hear this cheering all the way in Washington D.C.”
\n“I hope they’re paying close attention, because tonight the independent voice of Massachusetts has spoken,” Brown said, holding up a copy of the Boston Herald with the headline: “He did it.”
\nTelling the crowd he received a phone call from President Obama, Brown alluded to his campaign ads featuring his pickup truck, which the president mocked in a campaign stop Sunday.
