According to GameBids.com, which tracks the progress of Olympic bids, President Obama’s decision to appear in Copenhagen and give a speech to the IOC was boosted Chicago’s chances for winning.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Other heads of state realized this as well and put in an appearance<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Other cities also have their country’s leaders attending the meeting to support their bids.
\nSpain’s King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia and Spanish President Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero are planning to push the case for Madrid, according to the Madrid 2016 bid committee.
\nBrazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was expected to be joined by soccer legend and Brazilian native Pele as they advertise the benefits of a Rio Games.

\nJapanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, just two weeks into the job, also planned to be at the vote to demonstrate the government’s full backing of the Tokyo bid, the bid committee said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nWell, all I can say is this: bwahahahahahahahahahahaha! So much for our improved standing in the world. Now, the big question is: how does the left blame this on Bush?
