Grassley said he spoke with a Democratic House member last week who shared Obama’s bleak reaction during a private meeting to reports that some factions of House Democrats were lining up to stall or even take down the overhaul unless leaders made major changes.

\nBTW, I was going to agree with Obama when he said that this healthcare debate shouldn’t be about defeating him (whether that was what DeMint was saying or not), this debate is about defeating a bill that would ration our healthcare and paying more for the privileged to do so. This isn’t about a fight for power or the need to crush your opponent. This is about making sure our grandmas get their pacemakers<\/a> (thank the Lord my 91-year-old my grandma already got her pacemaker) and not put them on painkillers as they die. It’s about keeping what we’ve got and helping others obtain it if they want<\/em><\/strong>. Not forcing them to buy insurance if they don’t want it.
