“We’re talking about Christianity.” That’s what Gretchen of “Fox & Friends” fears if we allow the atheists to have their say and we just ignore it. The context of the quote is the Washington capital atheist sign controversy. Michelle Malkin thinks we should just ignore it. She looks at it as “identity politics run a muck” and that the “the atheists need their 15 minutes of fame.” She suggests that we treat them like trolls when they act like party poppers, trying to take the merry out of Merry Christmas. Gretchen thinks that this will lead to a loss of control and it’s a threat to Christianity.If Christianity was the national religion, then Gretchen would have a good point but it’s not. Worrying about Christianity disappearing because atheists express their first amendment right is just plain silly. Christianity has been around for thousands of years, it’s a worldwide religion. It’s survived emperors, Ayatollahs, kings, Marxists, Communists dictators, Saudi princes, etc. all trying to wipe it out. It can surely survive a sign that reads, “Thou shalt not steal.” :-)Even if the atheists got their wish and Christianity was declared illegal in America and we could no longer worship in public, we would worship privately in our homes like they do in China. If we could no longer celebrate Christmas as a national holiday, we would still celebrate it privately and enjoy it all the same. They wouldn’t be able to wipe it out because Christianity grows and flourishes in times of persecution. Atheists will never be able to destroy it because they don’t have the power to do so and never will. So put up your signs and say “bah humbug” all you want, it won’t change a thing, Christianity will survive your attempts to ridicule it into being pass\u00c3\u00a9.<\/p>\n
