\nMcCain is starting to get Obama sized crowds <\/a>\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Beginning with her announcement last Friday in Dayton, Ohio, McCain has drawn more enthusiasm and packed in more people to his events than at any time during his campaign.
\nThe two events Friday both drew about 10,000 people, comparable numbers to what the newly-formed ticket saw last weekend . <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And Obamanite-type enthusiasm:<\/p>\n

Yet it was Palin who many, especially women, in both crowds were thrilled to see up close just days after she exploded onto the national political scene.
\nClutching signs with messages such as “Girl Power” and “Sarah Is My American Idol,” moms and their daughters lined the barricades just outside The Chocolate Shop in Cedarburg, Wisconsin that served as the backdrop for the rally.
\nThe women said they had come to see both members of the new Republican ticket, but couldn’t fake it when asked who they were more excited to lay eyes on.
\n“Sarah!” a small group of them yelled .
\nMeghan Groppe, 12, of Cedarburg explained the enthusiasm.
\n“Because if they get voted in she’ll be the first lady vice-president,” Groppe said, flashing a smile missing a few teeth.
\nMore expansive but similarly enthusiastic was Cheryl Hauswirth of nearby Grafton, Wisconsin.
\n“She’s a real women, she’s a real feminist but she’s not strident–she’s like us,” said Hauswirth, a middle-aged mother who didn’t offer her age. “She’s strong, powerful and opinionated, all the things a women should be while still retaining her femininity, her womanhood.” <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A week ago few in Britain had heard of Palin.

\nShe was an electrifying mix of passion, energy, optimism and plain speaking. The exact opposite of the slippery, two-faced, depressing bunch of third-raters who parade on our Westminster stage. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Looks like we’ve got ourselves a movement. Though, I don’t think that Palinites (Sarahites?) would want to emulate the Obamanites this way<\/a> (People, there really is the possibility that he might lose, do you really want to go through life with a loser on your back? \ud83d\ude42
\nBTW, McCain has more Palin merchandise available. If you want a shirt, bumper sticker or pin that expresses your love for Sarah, they have merchandise available with her name on the top<\/a>. It reads “Sarah!” (How cute is that?) With a McCain-Palin 08 tag line. I was thinking of getting a T-shirt but they only have white I prefer read or blue. But I might get a bumper sticker (I have never put a bumper sticker on my car before or worn a T-shirt advertising a candidate). I think that it’s pretty smart and humble of McCain to promote his vice president this way.
\nAnd I guess the demand was overwhelming for Biden material because Obama’s campaign finally added it to their store<\/a>. You can get a very nice blue T-shirt or button (first printing). I saw my first Obama-Biden bumper sticker yesterday on my way to school.
