Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), the desire for a breather would be understandable.
But the Republican National Committee (RNC) had already been piling up reams of opposition research, some of which it had already released, that it will use to define Obama before he has a chance to recover from the primaries.
[…]
The RNC was stocked with video footage of Obama’s Democratic rivals — especially Clinton — questioning his readiness to be commander in chief.
On Tuesday, with that night’s outcome clear, the RNC sprang into action, sending Republic surrogates out on more than 100 interviews in “national media, target markets, Hispanic press and blogs,” according to one official.
“Once he wheezed across the finish line, we were ready to help educate voters about Obama’s plans to raise taxes, cut troop funding, and negotiate with hostile leaders,” Amber Wilkerson, an RNC spokeswoman, said. “Thankfully, we only had to look to comments from Democrat leaders — including Hillary Clinton and John Edwards — to pose some important questions about Obama’s poor judgment and weak experience.”

You can pick up this handy little widget there that tells you how many days it’s been since Obama visited Iraq.

And this guy wants to be our commander-in-chief? Shouldn’t he see what the situation is like on the ground before he promises to remove our troops no matter what?
(via)
An interpretation of this post from the Reformed perspective:
I would think that human compassion and love for your neighbor alone would dictate that we wouldn’t abandon the Iraqi people to an enemy that’s bent on enslaving them under rules they don’t want to live by (both the Shiites and al Qaeda want to impose Sharia law), to have to battle an enemy before they are fully ready especially if they are so close to being ready (the Iraqi army took control of Basra and parts of Sadr City).
I could say more about my view of the war but I’ll save that for another time. Quite frankly I think that we should stop rehashing the reasons we invaded Iraq (I believe they were valid) and start focusing on finishing the job so that we can get the heck out of there.
I know some of you don’t understand this but I’m not an advocate for war. If I actually thought that we could live in peace with other nations, I would advocate destroying all our weapons and never taking up arms again but I know that the minute we do that, we would be invaded. That’s just the way the world works as anyone who has even just glanced at the history of the world would know. That’s just human nature.
The world will never have a moment of peace because mankind is incapable of living in peaceful coexistence. Just look at how many fights there are between neighbors. Look at how quick we are to take up arms against even our loved ones. How oo you expect the nations to live in peace when they are ruled by people who are no better than us? (Well, I’m sure Obama wouldn’t agree with that 🙂

The RNC has created a new website as a repository of their opposition research on Obama.
