All you people who have been complaining about the Wright coverage might want to listen to the messiah, even he says that it’s fair for us to look into it<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Moderator Tim Russert asked Obama why he waited until last week to denounce Wright\u2019s controversial comments instead of earlier in the campaign. Obama said he felt that Wright\u2019s earlier comments about U.S. foreign policy, origins of AIDS and other issues \u201cdidn\u2019t define him.\u201d
\n\u201cThey were a bunch of sermons that had been spliced and that\u2019s not who I thought he was,\u201d Obama said. \u201cI did what I thought was right, which was denounce the words, not denounce the man.\u201d
\nBut when Wright spoke at the National Press Club on Monday, \u201cnot only did he amplify some of those comments and defended them vigorously, but he added to them,\u201d Obama said.
\n\u201cI think what really changed was he was going to double down on the statements he made before,\u201d the senator said. \u201cHe put gasoline on the fire.\u201d
\n\u201cHe didn\u2019t have much regard for the moment we\u2019re in \u2026 we\u2019ve got to bring the country together to solve problems,\u201d Obama continued. \u201cWhat he said did not bring the country together; it divided the country. I didn\u2019t want my presidential campaign to be associated with that.\u201d
\nObama acknowledged that voters should examine his past relationship with Wright.
\n\u201cI think it\u2019s fair for people to look at this episode,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen you\u2019re running for president, your life\u2019s an open book. I think people have the right to lift the hood and kick the tires.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It does go to his character and that’s all we have of him isn’t it? How do we know he would make a good president, his character is about all we got. And if he is saying that he wants to bring the country together but has attended a church that appears to be divisive than should we believe him?
