Huckabee still sounds like he’s still hoping<\/a> McCain may be rejected by the party:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are some serious questions whether Sen. McCain will be able to spend any money between now and the convention,\u201d Huckabee said. \u201cHe will basically sit at home between now and September and not be able to spend a dime. And maybe the party will be wishing for a candidate without those restrictions, a candidate who can campaign full-time<\/strong>.\u201d
\nWhile some Huckabee supporters were hoping that he might get a vice presidential nod this year, Huckabee says they should forget it. \u201cWe have been given every signal that is not going to be considered,\u201d Huckabee said.
\nIn fact, Huckabee has not been guaranteed even what losing candidates are often guaranteed: a speech at the party\u2019s convention. \u201cIt would be amazing if I was disinvited there,\u201d Huckabee said. \u201cIf this were the NCAA and the Final Four \u2014 two Democrats, two Republicans \u2014 I would be in it.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Um…what does Huckabee think the party can do before the convention? If Republicans wanted a different candidate that had money and could spend it, we couldn’t do anything about it until the convention and then after that its moot.
\nI’m not surprised that Huckabee hasn’t been considered for the ticket, I think he would try to hog the spotlight for himself and would probably remind voters why he was the better candidate.
