I read two stories right after each other and I was struck by the fact that it was a similar action but happened in different cultures in different parts of the world. In Jeddah a man was shopping with his nephew and aunt and he was angry with the aunt so he decapitated the boy:

Early morning shoppers at a supermarket in Jeddah were left reeling yesterday, with some falling unconscious, after a well-built Syrian man clinched a knife and decapitated his 15-month-old nephew in front of his mother in the store’s fruit and vegetable section.
In a brutal murder that has shocked the city, the 25-year-old man beheaded the boy, who was out shopping with his mother — in full glare of shoppers and staff at Al-Marhaba supermarket on Sari Street around 9.30 a.m. The man, who is the boy’s maternal uncle, apparently killed the boy following a dispute with his sister and brother-in-law.
Eyewitnesses said that the man picked up a knife from inside the store and severed the boy’s head. The mother and a shopper standing close by fainted, while several other stood in shock and disbelief over what had happened.
A police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Arab News, “The murderer was in a dispute with the boy’s mother and her husband. He chopped off the boy’s head in front of the mother to get back at her.” He added that the mother has been left traumatized and is in hospital. The boy’s father was at work at the time of the incident.

(via)
And a teenage girl was angered that her parents wanted her to break up with her boyfriend joined her boyfriend and two friends in killing her mom and siblings and wounding her father.

The 16-year-old girl joined her boyfriend and two others in shooting and stabbing members of the Caffey family in their bedrooms before setting the house on fire, authorities said, confirming what most in this farming town had known since the pre-dawn attack Saturday.
The lone survivor was Terry Caffey, the father. He was shot five times — including twice in the back — before he dragged his bloodied body through the woods in search of help. He awaited surgery Sunday to remove the bullets, Rains County Sheriff David Traylor said.
Killed were Penny Caffey, 37, and sons Tyler, 8, and Mathew, 13.

Please join me in praying for both of this family as they deal with the fallout from these acts of brutality. Pray for the nephew and the daughter that they come to understand the meaning and value of life. Pray for the parents of the children slain and for the husband who lost his wife, pray that they will be comforted by God while they mourn the loss of loved ones.
