For somebody who is mostly living off the land (ok, the internet) that is not a bad figure, just below where John McCain will wind up and about three million less than Fred Thompson&#8217;s anticipated haul.<br \/>\nWhat&#8217;s more, it&#8217;s $4 million more than what Mike Huckabee raised.  As <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.washingtonpost.com\/thefix\/2007\/10\/huckabees_money.html\">reported<\/a> by Chris Cillizza, Huckabee raised a paltry $1 million for the quarter.   For somebody who enjoyed a rush of positive media following his second-place showing at the Ames Straw Poll on August 11th, this is a disappointing figure and raises question about whether he can compete with the big boys.  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, I guess <a href=\"http:\/\/reformedchicksblabbing.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/mike-huckabee-claims-first-tier-status.html\">Huckabee declared his first-tier status prematurely<\/a>.<br \/>\nI wonder why Huckabee isn&#8217;t doing better among the Christian right.  He&#8217;s a baptist minister and he&#8217;s pro-life and pro-gay amendment, why isn&#8217;t he raking in the cash?  If Dobson et al. want someone who supports their values, why not Huckabee?
