THEN it&#8217;s okay to criticize them, or rip on people who have served their country. yet another reason why you should be a conservative (they get a free pass on hypocrisy).<br \/>\ni disagree with the right&#8217;s interpretation of the ad and their overreaction to it. in the end, it doesn&#8217;t matter, because they cannot argue about the content &amp; context of the ad, only the headline.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Um, the ad was <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20070926\/ap_on_go_co\/petraeus_moveon\">condemned by the House by a pretty large majority<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The House on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted to condemn the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org for a recent advertisement attacking the top U.S. general in Iraq.<br \/>\nBy a 341-79 vote, the House passed a resolution praising the patriotism Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and condemning a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Petraeus as &#8220;General Betray Us.&#8221;<br \/>\n[&#8230;]<br \/>\nWisconsin Rep. David Obey, a veteran Democrat, recounted how he left the Republican Party during the era of Sen. Joseph McCarthy, R-Wis., and said that lawmakers have an obligation to criticize their allies as well as their enemies when they go too far.<br \/>\n&#8220;I&#8217;ve got an obligation to be equally upset when that kind of juvenile debate emanates from the left,&#8221; Obey said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s not just the right who think that the ad went too far, the leaders of your side thought so as well.
