Did you make a summer reading list? I’ve decided to read more over this summer so I bought a bunch of books to help give me the incentive to read. Before I started blogging, I would read a lot over the summer but with the blogs, I have less time to read. Now I’m going to discipline myself to take the time to read. I’ve already read one of the books on the list and have started two of the others so I’m off to a pretty good start. I think you’ll find the list a little eclectic, certainly a range of genres.
\nDeath Match<\/a> by Lincoln Child — I just finished this one and will be posting a review for it soon (I hope). It was pretty good even though I figured it out almost immediately.
\nThe Birth of the Church<\/a> and A Public Faith<\/a> by Ivor J. Davidson — as I mentioned here, these are texts for my Ancient Church class that I plan to read over the summer.
\nThe Spirit of Early Christian Thought<\/a> by Robert Louis Wilken — also a textbook.
\nEmergence of the Catholic Tradition: 100-600<\/a> by Jaroslav Pelikan — as is this one.
\nThe Gospel and Revelation<\/a> by Graeme Goldsworthy — I plan to work on Revelation over the summer because I actually do intend to post my study online eventually.
\nReasons for Faith: Philosophy in the Service of Theology<\/a> by Scott Oliphint — I love Oliphint, he’s pretty brilliant. I’m trying to review my apologetics class over the summer, I thought the book would help.
\nSign of the Cross<\/a> by Chris Kuzneski
\nThe Serial Killers Club<\/a> by Jeff Povey — This book looked pretty weird, it’s the story of a serial killer killing other serial killers.
\nThe Book of Fate<\/a> by Brad Meltzer — I’m reading this now and it’s pretty good so far. It pulls you into the story quickly and is fast paced (clinched but true).
\nPattern Recognition<\/span><\/a> by William Gibson — I haven’t read Gibson in years and I thought I would give his latest a try.
\nGospel Truths<\/a> by J. G. Sandom
\nSnow Crash<\/a> by Neal Stephenson
