Patrick Leahy, D-VT, whose judiciary committee is investigating whether eight political appointees were fired from the Justice Department for political reasons. &#8220;However, at some point we think lawmaking would be a nice change of pace from the daily routine of hearings and probes of the criminals who work for Bush.&#8221;<br \/>\n[&#8230;]<br \/>\n&#8220;At this point,&#8221; Ms. Perino said, &#8220;They seem to be working their way slowly through the Bill of Rights and have yet to get beyond &#8216;Congress shall make no law&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I welcome the Democrats new role of investigators instead of legislators.
