While checking out different Christian blogs today I came to this one called Smart Christian <\/a>and found some very shocking news, it seems that Ralph Reed has been implicated in the Jack Abramoff affair. Go here<\/a> and read the excerpts from emails of Reed to Abramoff. It appears that Ralph Reed was influence peddling and was using Dobson to get money from Abramoff. He also appears to have used a number of pastors as well. Focus on the Family is upset about World Magazine publishing the article but the emails are part of the Congressional record so they can’t complain that the sources aren’t credible.
\nAnother black eye for the Christian community. Can Christians work in politics? I believe so but I think it is incredibly hard not to be seduced by the corrupting influence of power. It is so important that those who claim the name of Christ act like his disciples when we are serving him in the jobs that He has called us to do. The minute we let money and pragmatism dictate our actions we abandon our calling and are just doing a job — we are no longer serving Him but ourselves.
