In other words, we throw away more food than the world eats.

Do you know that changing how you purchase your groceries can make a difference?

Lots of us think about changing our lives. But the key is that we have to live ourselves into new ways of thinking. That means taking action now. You have to change your actions, because thinking about changing your actions doesn’t cut it.

If you changed how you purchased your groceries today, you could not only feed your family–but feed orphans overseas.

Last month, Kirby Patterson–one of the founders of Destiny Foods Direct–came to our HopeChest board meeting to grill steaks and chicken for us. You feed your family with great food, and orphans are fed through a $50 per purchase donation that goes directly to Children’s HopeChest.

Finally, it is portion controlled. And getting a box of beef and chicken shipped to your door may feel a little strange at first. But I challenge you to look at your budget, go to Destiny Foods Direct, and purchase a box.

Americans throw away around 120 pounds of food each month. A tireless advocate for fatherless children, Davis has spent most of his adult life calling U.S. believers to become the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to the 143 million orphans living around the world. Through those connections, thousands of orphans now have the bright and hopeful future--one that is filled with opportunities and the love of the one true Father. Davis speaks hundreds of times each year at churches and conferences, mobilizing the church to action on behalf of the poor. He is the author of four books. His most recent novel, SCARED is a fictionalized account of his first-hand experiencing living and working with orphans in Swaziland, Africa. Davis' blog is the premier resource for the latest developments in Christian orphan ministry. Davis also currently teaches courses as adjunct professor at George Fox University in Newberg, OR. When not traveling the globe, Davis resides in the mountains of Colorado in the small community of Palmer Lake. He and his wife Emily have seven children, including two adopted daughters from Russia.
["GET
