Dr. Ananthi Jebasingh was not looking to start a school for children living in the slums of India.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t until a boy knocked at her door that her amazing journey began. First it was just one boy, then another, and another, and another.<\/p>\n

Soon her garage had become a makeshift classroom with new students asking for “admission” to her “school” each day.<\/p>\n

Ananthi went to the commissioner for the slum neighborhood to ask for help. And she was told that she could receive \u00a0a small room located in a public toilet complex to teach the children.<\/p>\n

Was this a joke?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ananthi describes the public toilet complex as being completely disgusting. You could smell the terrible stench from a kilometer away as it was used by thousands of people.<\/p>\n

And this slum commissioner thought this was a place where kids could go to school?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Not to mention that it is not a place for a professional woman to spend her day. Imagine teaching a classroom of children in those conditions.<\/p>\n

Ananthi describes what happens next as the “manger scene crossing her mind like a film.” And her heart says that if Jesus can be born in a manger–then she can not only enter a toilet complex, but use it to teach children.<\/p>\n
