\"\"<\/a>For a few years now I have tried to be more observant of the church calendar in my devotional life as a Christian. I own several books about incorporating liturgical prayer and spiritual practice into my daily life. I have read some of them. But I admit to being a little intimidated by it all at times and certainly I am not as successful as I would like to be at being mindful of the ebb and flow of the church year.<\/p>\n

However, this summer I am enjoying a new devotional by friend, successful devotional author,\u00a0 and speaker Sarah Arthur.\u00a0 “At the Still Point”<\/a>\u00a0 is unlike other devotionals in\u00a0that it\u00a0 combines excerpts from great pieces of literature and connects them to the church season known as ordinary time .<\/p>\n

Oh, no, don’t worry, you\u00a0 don’t have to be\u00a0 a book geek like me or a divinity school graduate like Sarah to read this book. In fact, it’s a great way to introduce you –\u00a0or reacquaint yourself\u00a0 – with authors as varied as\u00a0 classic writers like John Donne or Chesterton\u00a0to more contemporary authors like Luci Shaw, Bret Lott\u00a0or Enuma Okoro.<\/p>\n
