Lord, help us to make Jesus&#8217; victory our own and to<br \/>\nviscerally experience this liberating Good News. \u00a0From whatever graves we may currently inhabit, may we hear Jesus&#8217; clarion<br \/>\ncall to follow him to new life. <span>\u00a0<\/span>We<br \/>\ndo not expect magic or instant gratification, rather we pray for your powerful<br \/>\npresence as we journey on our path of renewal.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>From our destructive sin turn us to accept your transforming<br \/>\ngrace, from isolating loneliness lead us towards a healing community, from<br \/>\ninstinctive fear inspire intentional love, from paralyzing personal grief awaken<br \/>\nus to compassion towards others, in our helpless despair reveal your Incarnate One<br \/>\nso that we might be living testimonies to your resurrection, that we might, in<br \/>\nSt. Augustine&#8217;s words, be alleluia from head to toe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On this Easter morning we remember all those who are sick,<br \/>\nwho are suffering, those who have died, and those who grieve those deaths. God,<br \/>\nwho through your son Jesus conquered death, we commend the souls of all who<br \/>\nhave died to your loving eternal embrace.<span>\u00a0<br \/>\n<\/span>May those of us who suffer from any affliction feel your comforting<br \/>\npresence and receive your healing power to sooth and mend our broken<br \/>\nhearts.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>May the light of Jesus&#8217;<br \/>\nlove break through the shadows and slowly bring back to life even the most<br \/>\npainful and deadened parts of our spirits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Compassionate God, we remember the men and women of our<br \/>\narmed services and ask that you might protect them and give them a special<br \/>\nportion of Easter Good News.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>We<br \/>\npray for all people living in countries affected by war including Iraq and<br \/>\nAfghanistan, Israel and Palestine, Darfur, the Congo. God we pray for the day<br \/>\nwhen our swords will become plowshares and war will be no more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Lord, much of the world remains in the hypnotic thrall of<br \/>\ncrucifixion.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Billions of your<br \/>\nprecious children living and dying in poverty, habitual war strangling fragile<br \/>\nefforts for peace, the weak exploited for gain by the greedy, loss of jobs and<br \/>\nhomes throughout our nation devastating families, and the continued inequality<br \/>\namong peoples rotting the fabric of our society. <span>\u00a0<\/span>On this day of resurrection we remember Jesus&#8217; first sermon<br \/>\nwhen he told us that he came to bring good news to the poor, release the<br \/>\ncaptive, give sight to the blind, liberation to the oppressed. Commission us<br \/>\ntoday to be apostles of your radical Gospel that Love is more powerful than<br \/>\ndeath, that passion is more powerful than the grave. \u00a0May we labor in your kingdom with the confidence that there is no evil we cannot<br \/>\novercome if we are bound by the blessed power of your sacrificial love and<br \/>\nresurrecting Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Thank you God for your son Jesus, for his life, for his<br \/>\ndeath, and for his resurrection.<span>\u00a0<br \/>\n<\/span>Hear us as we pray the prayer he taught us:<\/p>\n<p><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt\">Our<br \/>\nFather, who art in heaven, <br \/>\nHallowed be thy Name. <br \/>\nThy kingdom come. <br \/>\nThy will be done, <br \/>\nOn earth as it is in heaven. <br \/>\nGive us this day our daily bread. <br \/>\nAnd forgive us our trespasses, <br \/>\nAs we forgive those who trespass against us. <br \/>\nAnd lead us not into temptation, <br \/>\nBut deliver us from evil. <br \/>\nFor thine is the kingdom, <br \/>\nand the power, <br \/>\nand the glory, <br \/>\nfor ever and ever. <br \/>\nAmen.<i><\/i><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><br \/>\n<!--EndFragment--><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Living and Reigning God We give you thanks on this Easter morning for the Resurrection of your son Jesus Christ!
