Far better to take refuge in God<\/strong><\/em>
\n than trust in people;<\/strong><\/em>
\nFar better to take refuge in God<\/strong><\/em>
\n than trust in celebrities. Psalm 118:8,9 The Message<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In a political election season it\u2019s easy to get all wrapped up in the gossip, mud slinging, rumors, conspiracy theories, fears, scandals, drama, and minute-by-minute media coverage. Where do we look when things are confusing and even frightening?<\/p>\n

Where can we run for cover?<\/p>\n

We can run to God. He is our place of refuge. When we pray, we come under His protective covering. We gain a greater perspective, accessing peace in the battle and calm in the storm.<\/p>\n

Father,<\/em><\/p>\n

I cannot fully trust the system.<\/em>
\nI cannot fully trust people.<\/em>
\nI cannot fully trust politicians.<\/em>
\nI cannot fully trust the media.<\/em>
\nI cannot fully trust the entertainment industry. <\/em>
\nI cannot fully trust my party.<\/em>
\nI cannot even fully trust myself or my perspective. <\/em>
\nBut I can fully trust in you.<\/em>
\nI run to you for refuge.<\/em>
\nNo matter what happens in this world,<\/em>
\nNo matter what happens in this election,<\/em>
\nNo matter what happens in this generation,<\/em>
\nNo matter what happens today,<\/em>
\nNo matter what happens November 8, 2016,<\/em>
\nNo matter what happens in the future and beyond,<\/em>
\nI run to you for protection,<\/em>
\nwisdom,<\/em>
\nstrength,<\/em>
\nhope,<\/em>
\njoy,<\/em>
\nforgiveness,<\/em>
\nand confidence.<\/em>
