If you say, \u201cThe Lord is my refuge,\u201d<\/em>
\n and you make the Most High your dwelling,<\/em>
\nno harm will overtake you,<\/em>
\n no disaster will come near your tent.\u00a0Psalm 91:9,10<\/em><\/p>\n

With the convenience of instantaneous news from all around the world at our fingertips 24 hours a day comes the ever increasing tendency to fear. Threats of war, pending financial doom, epidemics, stock market and airplane crashes all feed to inflate our fears. Psalm 91 says, “If you say The Lord is my refuge…[then] no harm will overtake you.” That is perhaps a condition to understanding The Lord as our Safe Place. Let’s make that our confession today, and resist the temptation to confess our fears, real as they seem to be. Let’s highlight that Greater Truth and not the things that threaten to undo our peace and serenity.<\/p>\n

My Father,<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

You are my Safe Place in this threatening world. I run to You and I am safe from every storm. Still the storm in my heart today, and fill me with Your hope and Your presence and Your joy in the midst of it all.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In Jesus’ Name, Amen<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy;\u00a0<\/em>nothing will harm you.” \u00a0Luke 10:19<\/em><\/p>\n

The Lord keeps you from all harm<\/em>
\n and watches over your life. Psalm 121:7<\/em><\/p>\n

And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,<\/em>
\nWe will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us:<\/em>
\nThe Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;<\/em>
\nHis rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,<\/em>
\nOne little word shall fell him. \u00a0<\/em>~Martin Luther<\/em><\/p>\n
