\nin her big brown eyes.

Oh, help me to

\nbringing her to You.<\/p>\n

The needle nestles into her leg, without a sound.
\nShe does not whimper or even twinge.
\nHer last breath will emerge upon a steel table.
\nHer furry form cloaked inside my old robe,
\nher favorite piece of home.<\/p>\n

My shaking arms embrace her now bony frame.
\nHer brown eyes, trusting gaze into mine,
\nsearing our years of joy, love, laughter and family
\n-our forever bond.<\/p>\n

I kiss her forehead and lift her face.
\nI need Your help to stay strong,
\nto see her through.
\nHer lashes, so long and sweet
\nher life, too short, so sweet.<\/p>\n

I whisper my lasting love into her fuzzy ear,
\nmy goodbye until we meet again,
\n“Mommy loves you, see you soon.”
\nHer tail swishes
\none
\nlast
