but somehow didn’t.<\/div>\n
I see Your hand in this.<\/div>\n
The same hand that formed us,<\/div>\n
loud and raucous,<\/div>\n
into friends.<\/div>\n
No one could shut us up, then or now.<\/div>\n
It is time to raise our voices again.
\nWe pray for one of our own.
\nWe visualize her cancer-free.
\nWe project our future \u2014 old ladies,
\nstill talking about school dances
\nand humiliating crushes, together.
\nIt wouldn’t be us without her.<\/div>\n
Divine Presence,
\nbless our classmate,
\nour friend, our sister.
\nMay our voices have power
\nas they did of old,
\nnot for girlish gab,
\nbut to make real our hopes:
