The frail and the meek,
\nThe lonely and the lost,
\nThey are my father and my mother.<\/p>\n

The soldier with his weapon,
\nThe youth in her wheelchair,
\nThey are my son and my daughter.<\/p>\n

The widow and the orphan,
\nThe confused and the lost,
\nThey are my cousins and friends.<\/p>\n

God of justice,
\nOnly You know why one man is born for silk
\nAnd another man is born for sand.
\nOnly You know why one woman is born for castles,
\nAnd another is born for cardboard.<\/p>\n

God of mercy,
\nGrant me the wisdom and compassion
\nTo see all men and women
\nAs my family and kin.
\nHelp me to use the gifts of my life
\nAs blessings to share.
\nGrant me compassion for those in need:
\nThe suffering, the hungry,
\nThose in pain,
\nThose in fear.
\nLead me to a path
\nOf love and healing
\nIn service to Your Holy name.<\/p>\n
