Richard Wurmbrand, the compassionate author of the\u00a0 bestseller Tortured for Christ, <\/em>which told of his suffering at the hands of the Communist government of his native Romania — and called for Christians everywhere to remember their persecuted brethren.<\/p>\n

I had the privilege of\u00a0Rev. Wurmbrand’s\u00a0friendship in the\u00a0late 1980s\u00a0— as I\u00a0observed firsthand his kindness as he ministered and advised a mutual friend, a\u00a0nationally prominent preacher who had suffered public disgrace. When all the others turned their backs on my friend, the compassionate Rev. Wurmbrand stood by him, prayed with him, advised him and guided him back into service for the Lord.<\/div>\n

Voice of the Martyrs continues\u00a0the Rev. Wurmbrand’s\u00a0ministry — proclaiming to the world the plight of persecuted Christians.<\/p>\n
