Apparently, the third time is a charm for Christian remixed music. Five-time GRAMMY\u00ae award winner TobyMac is the latest Christian artist to produce a remix album followed by Amy Grant\u2019s \u201cIn Motion: The Remixes\u201d (a great album) and Mandisa\u2019s \u201cGet Up: The Remixes\u201d (just so-so). \u201cEye\u2019m All Mixed Up (Remixes)\u201d is TobyMac\u2019s follow up album after \u201cEye on It\u201d which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It is the third Christian album to accomplish this feat at the time of its release.<\/p>\n

Unlike Grant\u2019s and Mandisa\u2019s albums, this new one features reworking of songs only on \u201cEye on It\u201d instead of a mix of songs from previous works. Reworked tracks are created by remixers Capital Kings, Telemitry, Soul Glow Activatur of Family Force 5 and others.<\/p>\n

In a nutshell, if you like \u201cEye on It,\u201d you\u2019ll probably like this work as well. The songs sound different enough so you won\u2019t feel like you\u2019re listening to the same old music. Soul Glow Activatur\u2019s version of \u201cEye on It\u201d is by far the best track and is a good way to start out. It\u2019s just as catchy as the original and just as fun.<\/p>\n

There aren\u2019t really any \u201cclunkers\u201d on this album, but be warned, not every song has been turned into a dance number. Songs like \u201cForgiveness\u201d and \u201cSpeak Life\u201d haven\u2019t been sped up, which might be disappointing to a few listeners. Something else to take note of is the fact that the album features two versions of “Me Without You” (Capital Kings and Telemitry) and a second version of “Eye on It” by Kaveman.<\/p>\n
