In celebration of new IMAX film, Jerusalem, National Geographic Entertainment and the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University (CFHU) have teamed together to create The Jerusalem Challenge. \u201cThe Jerusalem Challenge shares National Geographic\u2019s mission to build awareness and understanding between people of different backgrounds, cultures and beliefs,\u201d said Lisa Truitt, president of National Geographic Entertainment. \u201cThe competition will encourage the discussion and give several lucky fans the opportunity to discover the distinctive sites featured in our Jerusalem film firsthand, and explore why the Old City is so unique and beloved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Jerusalem_205x305\"<\/a>From now until March 2, 2014, you can enter the contest<\/a> by answering this question: \u201cWhat ideas do you have or what are you already doing to make the world a better place by bringing people together from different cultures, backgrounds, or beliefs?\u201d Ten finalists will be unveiled on March 24, 2014, when the public will be tasked to vote for the top two winners, each of whom will win $2500 and a trip for two to Jerusalem hosted by National Geographic and the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.\u00a0 The winner in the 15-years old and under category will also be gifted a one-year subscription to National Geographic Magazine and a one-year membership to their local museum and IMAX\u00ae theater, as well as a trip for two to Jerusalem provided by Nat Geo Expeditions.<\/p>\n

In addition, everyone can test their Jerusalem knowledge by answering a variety of trivia questions about Jerusalem every week for the opportunity to win prizes, including National Geographic film collections and magazine subscriptions, cookbooks and film posters. Everyone who answers the trivia questions will be entered into a weekly drawing, with winners chosen randomly every Monday.<\/p>\n

Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch (PBS\u2019 Sherlock<\/i>, Star Trek into Darkness<\/i>), Jerusalem<\/i> focuses on the positive aspects of the city with upbeat music. It is \u201chosted\u201d by three young women which gives the film a contemporary feel rather than a dull history lesson. The incredibly clear photography will make you feel like you are really there and you might be surprised by what you can learn within the 45 minute film.
