Is your solar plexus making you fat?\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>The celiac plexus, also known as the solar plexus, is a complex network of nerves (a plexus) located in the abdomen, where the celiac trunk, superior mesenteric artery, and renal arteries branch from the abdominal aorta. It is in back of the stomach and the omental bursa, and in front of the crura of the diaphragm, on the level of the first lumbar vertebra, L1. (source: Wikipedia)\u00a0 (Wow\u2013that was a mouthful!)<\/em><\/p>\n

According to Hindu texts, the Solar Plexus is the seat of your third Chakra<\/strong>. This Chakra is situated just below the sternum (where your ribs attach in the front)<\/em>.\u00a0 You can imagine it<\/em> to be a beacon of light, which radiates from the center of your body.\u00a0 Its energy jet propels you to move forward, toward fulfilling your dreams and goals.<\/p>\n

And you can further imagine<\/em> that the Solar Plexus Chakra is where one can find and cultivate energy that can enable you to turn DESIRE into ACTION!!! <\/em><\/strong> It is home to our Want Power muscle<\/em><\/strong> (previously known as Will Power muscle).<\/p>\n

WANT \u2013 WILL \u2013 ACTION:\u00a0 <\/strong>What we WANT <\/strong>fuels our WILL <\/strong>and it, in turn, provides a spark of energy that ignites us into ACTION<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Solar Plexus is the crucial point in our bodies where our \u2018parts\u2019 \u2013 often opposing parts \u2013 have an opportunity to meet and join forces.<\/p>\n

An example:\u00a0 Part of me wants to be as healthy as humanly possible and say \u2018no, thank you\u2019 to foods that are processed, overloaded with saturated fats, salt and sugar, BUT the other part of me simply wants the fried chicken and the cake with extra frosting \u2013 now!\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, let\u2019s add philosopher Ken Wilbur\u2019s words into the mix, \u201cNo one is smart enough to be 100% wrong.\u201d <\/em>When I heard these words, I thought, \u201cwhat a wonderful concept to bring to my battling self.\u201d<\/p>\n

These words can shed light on your inner battle, as they help us to understand that our desire to eat cake is not 100% wrong, nor is our desire to eat healthfully 100% right.\u00a0 As neither side is wrong nor right, then there is an opportunity for understanding, for loving-kindness and inner-peace.<\/p>\n

When we scan our bodies from top to bottom, moving down from our foreheads to our toes, let\u2019s remember to pause at the Solar Plexus<\/strong><\/em> with an open heart and allow both \u2018parts\u2019 to say what they need to say so that the battle can end.<\/p>\n

Make peace with your parts.
\nSometimes it\u2019s just that simple!<\/p>\n
