Be THANKFUL!!! ~ Janice Taylor, Weight Loss Coach, Hypnotherapist, Author, Artist<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\"><i><b>Dearest Tushkateers, Devotees of Our Lady of Weight Loss<\/b><\/i>,\u00a0 I have a <b>Thanksgiving Challenge<\/b> for you!\u00a0 It serendipidously presented itself to me, which means that it did not come from me but rather through me.\u00a0 The idea to share with you was from <a href=\"http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/lptrack.html?OurLadyofWeightLoss::711::http:\/\/www.ourladyofweightloss.com\">Our Lady of Weight Loss<\/a>, herself!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\">Here&#8217;s how it went down.\u00a0 I proudly and with great panache recited my annual Thanksgiving prayer at our pre-Thanskgiving dinner.\u00a0 When done, my son-in-law piped up and offered some sage advice, &#8220;You know,&#8221; he said, &#8220;if you ask yourself, &#8220;Will &#8216;this&#8217; (referencing stuffing, pie, cranberry sauce, any food of any kind) make my heart happy, you are likely to see that it won&#8217;t, and you will more easily put the fork down and push away from the table.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\">So, I tried it.\u00a0 Once sated, with each and every impulse to eat more, I stopped, tuned inward and asked myself, <i><b>&#8220;Will this make my heart happy?&#8221;<\/b><\/i> (Please note <i><b>&#8220;Will this<\/b><\/i>&#8221; <b>works<\/b>.\u00a0 &#8220;Does this&#8221; does not work.\u00a0 Be careful what words you use.)\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\">Consistently, the answer was &#8220;no,&#8221; so I put the fork down and pushed away from the table. (This phrase, by the way, has become a family joke.\u00a0 We say &#8220;Put the fork down.\u00a0 Push away from the table.&#8221; as if we are the food police, speaking through a bullhorn.)\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\"><b>The Thanksgiving Challenge<\/b> is to, when reaching for yet another slice of the pie, more stuffing, or anything else that you really know in your heart of hearts is over the top and not worth it, ask yourself, &#8220;WILL this make my HEART happy?&#8221;\u00a0 There&#8217;s some magic in the heart aspect of this, as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\">&#8220;WILL this make my HEART HAPPY?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\">&#8220;WILL this make my HEART HAPPY?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\">&#8220;WILL this make my HEART HAPPY?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,sans-serif\">Okay?!\u00a0 On board!!!\u00a0 If need be, so you won&#8217;t forget, write it on an index card and carry with you.
