Are there any Weight Loss Virgins amongst us?\u00a0 Any Virgins out there???\u00a0 <\/b>I’m assuming not so many. But if you are a Weight Loss Virgin please do raise your hand, and yell out as loud as you can, “VIRGIN here!”<\/i><\/b>\u00a0 And if you are not a Virgin, pretend that you are one and yell out “VIRGIN here!”<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Being a Weight Loss Virgin is kind of like having Beginner’s Mind.\u00a0 Do you know about Beginner’s Mind?\u00a0 Beginner’s Mind is very Zen, very Buddhist.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

Beginner\u2019s Mind isn\u2019t about lacking knowledge; it\u2019s an attitude\u2026
\n\u2026 an attitude of energy and excitement that comes from learning new things.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a desire to explore. \u00a0 In this case, to explore all the things you don\u2019t know about your thinking, your beliefs around \u2018weight loss\u2019 (a.k.a. weight removal, dropping of pounds, slimming down, permanent fat removal).\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s about leaving your Weight Loss Baggage at the door.<\/p>\n

Some of what you already know, or think, or believe may be useful; some of it not.\u00a0 That said, if you\u2019ve tried numerous times to \u2018drop\u2019 or \u2018let go of\u2019 the excess, and you\u2019ve not been entirely successful, then it\u2019s a better strategy to approach this journey with Beginner\u2019s Mind<\/i>.<\/p>\n

With Beginner\u2019s Mind<\/i>, there\u2019s no judgment, censoring, editing or preconceived expectations.\u00a0\u00a0 It is the opposite of \u201cExpert Mind.\u201d\u00a0 It\u2019s not that you don\u2019t know \u2018stuff.\u2019\u00a0 You have led a rich and interesting life that is chock-a-block with plenty of meaningful lessons. And, perhaps you\u2019ve walked, skipped or jumped down this road before.<\/p>\n

Today, I am respectfully asking you to check all that you are carrying around with you; all the preconceived notions, beliefs, thoughts, judgments at the door.\u00a0 And when you re-enter come in with Beginner\u2019s Mind<\/i> or \u2026 if you are a Madonna fan \u2026 \u00a0re-enter like a Virgin, for the very first time!<\/i><\/p>\n
