{"id":5253,"date":"2013-10-30T11:47:59","date_gmt":"2013-10-30T15:47:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/ourladyofweightloss\/?p=5253"},"modified":"2015-11-30T15:42:53","modified_gmt":"2015-11-30T20:42:53","slug":"weight-loss-tips-6-steps-to-a-quick-fix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/ourladyofweightloss\/2013\/10\/weight-loss-tips-6-steps-to-a-quick-fix.html","title":{"rendered":"Weight Loss Tips:  6 Steps to a Quick Fix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4477\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/100\/2013\/01\/einstein-2copy-300x289.jpg\" alt=\"Einstein\" width=\"300\" height=\"289\" \/>Want a Quick Fix?<\/strong>\u00a0 Of course, you do!\u00a0 Who doesn&#8217;t?\u00a0 For Weight Loss?\u00a0 Creativity?\u00a0 A quick fix for any thing that you seemingly have to work hard to achieve?\u00a0 Today, as in right now, I do have a quick fix to share with you followed by six steps to help you cement the &#8220;quick fix&#8221; in place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Quick Fix is this:\u00a0 STOP seeing your weight as a food problem!<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Permanent weight removal, weight loss, slimming down (call it what you like) is NOT just about the food.\u00a0 It&#8217;s about your life, in its totality, all the pieces.\u00a0 It&#8217;s about character, priorities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.OurLadyofWeightLoss.com\" target=\"_blank\">Our Lady of Weight Loss<\/a> encourages you to read through these six steps, with pen and paper nearby, and when done&#8211;quickly jot down 1 to 3 insights that float to the top!\u00a0 And then, please, do share with us here (comments below) and\/or in Our Lady of Weight Loss&#8217;s Club:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/30757154492\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kick in the Tush Club FB<\/a>.\u00a0 There&#8217;s power in sharing (for the giver and the receiver).<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Here are the first six steps that one must take to permanently lose weight!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Transformation Change Begins with <strong>AWARENESS<\/strong>.<br \/>\nMost of us tend to think about losing weight as an external change, period &#8211; end of report.\u00a0 People seek to change the number of the scale, their dress size, they want to be healthier, fit, etc.\u00a0 Their first order of business, however, should be to change the way they think.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Negative thinking leads to negative results.\u00a0 One must first,<em> become AWARE of their THINKING<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 <strong>HONESTY<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 Honesty comes next.\u00a0 As you become aware of your thinking and your actions (actions follow thoughts), complete honesty is needed.\u00a0 People tend to make excuses, rationalize all the self-sabotaging things that they do.<\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>WILLINGNESS.<\/strong>\u00a0 Next you must be willing to make the changes that need to be made.\u00a0\u00a0 You must be willing to create a new healthy lifestyle.\u00a0 And there are probably a number of changes that need to be made.\u00a0 Are you willing to go the extra &#8220;change mile?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 <strong>IMAGINATION<\/strong>.\u00a0 You must use your imagination to see yourself at your end goal.\u00a0 Every detail.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 <strong>ADVANCE GRATITUDE<\/strong>.\u00a0 When your vision is clear, <em>Thank the Universe in Advance<\/em> as if it&#8217;s already happened.\u00a0 This allows the vision, your new reality to take root in your unconscious mind.\u00a0 Essential to sink in.\u00a0 Deep &#8211; on a cellular level.<\/p>\n<p>6. <strong>COMMITMENT<\/strong>. Commitment is the little engine that could.\u00a0 Commitment is what comes next, because until you&#8217;ve made it through the 5 steps, until you&#8217;ve hit a wall, had a bad day, fallen off the wagon, you have not had an opportunity to truly experience commitment.\u00a0\u00a0 Commitment is what keeps you moving forward; it&#8217;s what gets us through tough times.\u00a0 Commitment reaffirms willingness.\u00a0 Sticking with something &#8211; making a serious commitment through THICK and THIN.<\/p>\n<p>The quick fixes, the skipping meals, the exercise abuse &#8211; all of it &#8211; are ways to avoid the truth.
