\"\"This past Saturday evening, my 96 year-young-at-heart mother, Harriet, suffered a massive stroke while on the telephone with my husband.<\/p>\n

Mom was happily chatting away with her favorite (and only) son-in-law, sharing all the news of her day.\u00a0 She\u2019d attended a wonderful sing-a-long concert.\u00a0\u00a0 She\u2019d had an absolutely lovely conversation with her granddaughter, her grandson, as well as their spouses.\u00a0 I\u2019d spoken to her twice that day.\u00a0 She was high on music from the 1940s and happy on family.<\/p>\n

Mid-sentence the phone dropped.\u00a0 We immediately called the door-person in her building who rushed up to her 10th<\/sup> floor apartment, at which time an ambulance was called.\u00a0 She is currently in the hospital.<\/p>\n

We are sitting with her, holding her hand, and working with the hospital staff to assure her comfort.\u00a0 We are lighting candles, praying and reciting the Medicine Buddha meditation.<\/p>\n

I debated all week whether or not to reveal these personal details, but when I received a good number of emails from y\u2019all asking me where I\u2019d disappeared to, wondering if everything was all right, I decided to share.<\/p>\n

It is my intention to get back on track with regard to my blog posts, because honestly, being here with y\u2019all is a joy and one of the best parts of my day.<\/p>\n

Currently, I am compiling a list of happy songs from the 1930\u2019s and 1940\u2019s, so that I can create a music play list for my mother.\u00a0\u00a0 If you\u2019d care to add a song to the list, feel free to \u201cLeave a Song as Your Comment.\u201d
