For September?<\/p>\n<p>A couple of months ago, at the very beginning of summer, I engaged in a simply scintillating conversation with DH.\u00a0 We were talking about fear and worry; noting that 99.9% of the things that we are afraid of, worried about, ruminate over either miraculously take care of themselves, morph into some other thing, but never is the weight of the worry useful or worth it.\u00a0 In fact, it seriously mucks up the energy and does weigh us down!!!<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, I decided to shelve any and all things that were weighing heavy on my mind until September.\u00a0 I wrote out my concerns\/worries\/fears on a piece of paper and literally shelved them, putting the list all the way on the back of the top shelf in my closet, noting in my mind&#8217;s eye that the plan was to take the summer off from worry; to be free of heavy thought, and come September, I could:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 scratch off the items that are no longer of concern<br \/>\n2.\u00a0 shelve the remaining worries (again) until January (sounds good, huh?)<br \/>\n3.\u00a0 and &#8211; if some items are actionable; I could and will take action!<\/p>\n<p>When I looked at the calendar this morning and saw that September arrives on Saturday, my memory jogged and I remembered the list.\u00a0 I&#8217;m looking forward to reviewing it without worry!\u00a0 Worry and Fear are two major blocks that muck up the works.\u00a0 They are obstacles that we can do without!<\/p>\n<p>Join with me this weekend (in spirit and on <a href=\"http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/lptrack.html?OurLadyofWeightLoss::607::http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/30757154492\/\">KICK IN THE TUSH CLUB&#8217;s Facebook page<\/a>) as I review my list, make the appropriate adjustments to it and re-shelve it!!!<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of fears, worries &#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230; here is this week&#8217;s:<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHEWING THE FAT: \u00a0 Sammie the Skeptic, Worried and on the verge of giving up, quitting, failing?\u00a0 No Way!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Dear OLofWL ~<\/em><\/strong> Do you really think that anyone can overcome their obstacles, specifically when they are addicted to food and have been overweight their entire life?\u00a0 When I look at the number on the scale, when I think about the amount of pounds that I need to lose, I seriously worry whether I can do it or not. \u00a0 Can I? \u00a0<strong><em>~\u00a0 Sammie Skeptic<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Dear Sammie S. ~<\/em><\/strong> Yes, <strong>you can<\/strong>! And \u2026 Yes, I absolutely do \u2013 100% &#8211; believe that each and every one of us, individually and collectively, can overcome our weighty obstacles.\u00a0 We arrive on the planet (through the birth canal) fully loaded with all the inner-resources needed; especially when it comes to food\/weight loss.\u00a0 Really? Yes!\u00a0 In addition to shelving your worry, try these 9 First Steps &#8230; and see what could happen!<\/p>\n<p><strong>9 First Steps to Success (weight loss or otherwise)<\/strong> &#8211; to help get you started in the &#8216;right&#8217; direction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.\u00a0 Small G\u2019s<\/strong>:\u00a0 A good way to begin to build confidence, to start believing in yourself is to set small goals \u2013 things that you can achieve without too much effort. As you reach these goals, pat yourself on the back and acknowledge that <strong><em>you can<\/em><\/strong> achieve.<\/p>\n<p><em>Example:<\/em>\u00a0 Go through stack of mail and toss \u2018junk\u2019 mail.\u00a0 Or \u2013 buy energy saving light bulbs.\u00a0 Both of which will add to your healthy environment!\u00a0 (I just went through a mini-pile of mail.\u00a0 Wow, do I feel lighter!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0 Failure is Feedback:<\/strong>\u00a0 If you find that you fail here n\u2019 there, remember that:<\/p>\n<p>(a) everyone fails to achieve some goal; and<br \/>\n(b) failure is merely feedback.\u00a0 Learn from your missteps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.\u00a0 Chant Our Lady\u2019s Best Mantra:<\/strong>\u00a0 All is forgiven, move on!<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.\u00a0 Be Patient:<\/strong> Even if you are doing everything \u201cright,\u201d the scales, your clothes, your mindset may take a few minutes (at the very least) to catch up.\u00a0 Be kind; be patient.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 <strong>Tune Them Out:<\/strong> Outer critics, the people who tell you that you\u2019ll never succeed in one way or another are only tearing you down to build themselves up.\u00a0 Tune them out; later for them!<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.\u00a0 The Inner-Critic: <\/strong>If someone else said the things to you that you say to yourself, you\u2019d have nothing to do with said person.\u00a0 The best way for you to turn the inner-critic into the inner-lover is to simply observe.<\/p>\n<p>Notice, witness, hear the message and then send the message the way of the clouds.\u00a0 Blow, baby, blow on outta\u2019 here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.\u00a0 Focus On the Other:\u00a0 <\/strong>Another brilliant quote from Lewis Carroll (for the <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/page.html?p=000001XDDtjBzlVrEff2k9zasvtNrskML3t350H1wim\/WfcBroERo=\">full list and the fully loaded KITT Club eletter)<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>One of the secrets of life is that all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others.<\/em> <em>~ Lewis Caroll<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>True enough.\u00a0 You\u2019ll feel better about yourself and you will have effectively moved your thoughts away from you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8.\u00a0 Action:<\/strong>\u00a0 Dreams, goals, aspirations are meant for \u2018manifestation.\u2019\u00a0 It\u2019s the only way you are going to truly know if they are right for you.\u00a0 Put them into action!
